Extracting Fruit/Vegetable DNA

Introduce students to the structure and characteristics of DNA. Learn how to extract DNA from fruits and vegetables. Instructions include safety procedures, 6 experiments, questions and answers. Includes: DNA extraction buffer, calibrated transfer pipets, microtip transfer pipets, wooden sticks, large test tubes, small test tubes.  All DNA Depot® kits are designed for 6 groups working in groups of 2 or 3. They are ideal for middle school, home school and science projects. Many are supported by grants from the NCRR, part of the National Institute of Health (NIH).
