Periphyton are algae that attach to surfaces such as rocks or larger plants. This narrow toothbrush-style tool is designed for removing organisms from rocks and other aquatic substrates. Unlike a toothbrush, there are spaces between the groups of bristles, which reduce the trapping of periphyton in the brush. Recommended in the field protocol of the USGS. A Wildco® exclusive!
